2. registration and confirmation

Registrations will only be accepted subject to the availability of capacity. Registrations must contain at least the name and other informations enabling unambiguous identification. The registration becomes binding when a written invoice/booking confirmation is issued, whereby an e-mail is sufficient. This mail is also valid as an invoice for submission to the tax office.

3. billing and due date of fees

All fees are payable immediately upon receipt of the invoice/booking confirmation. Only payments containing the name of the participant can be considered.

4. scope of services

The event fee includes participation in all lectures and panel discussions. Included are catering (organic), a printed copy of our study results, as well as all event documents, such as program booklet, name tag, confirmation of participation, which are usually handed out at the event location.

5 Stipulations under data protection law

a. List of participants: With your registration you agree that your name, your institutional affiliation, your business address and your e-mail address will be listed on the list of participants in accordance with the information provided during registration. This will be handed out electronically to all event participants at the event in printed form or upon request. You can object to this in whole or in part by e-mail up to seven days before the event.

b. Film, photo & sound recordings: Film, photo and sound recordings can be made at and around the event by the organiser. Sound recordings made during the events, i.e. during the question and discussion sessions, can be used without further ado. Other film, photo and sound recordings on which persons can be identified will be made available to these participants in advance, should further processing or publication be planned. This is done by sending a link to the e-mail addresses provided. After three days at the earliest, a reminder e-mail will be sent, after which the participants will have another seven days to object by e-mail to the use of material on which they can be identified.

All other personal data will only be used for the processing of the symposium, for the application of a possible follow-up event and for the purposes mentioned here. The data will not be sold or otherwise disclosed to third parties not involved in the symposium. All data which are not necessary for the fulfillment of legal obligations will be irrevocably deleted at the latest one year after the event.

6. cancellation, rebooking, reimbursement

Cancellations must be made in writing, whereby an e-mail with the e-mail address given during registration is sufficient. Cancellations made before 1 April 2019 will be refunded the full ticket price and cancellations made before 30 April will be refunded half the ticket price. Subsequent refunds will only be possible in the event of serious illness and the like, provided a (medical) certificate is presented. In all cases, a handling fee of CHF 15 will be charged. A handling fee of CHF 5 will be charged for transfers to a cheaper category.

7. Force majeure, exclusion of liability, limitation of liability

The assertion of claims for damages is excluded if the execution of the event or individual components is impeded or prevented by unforeseen political or economic events or generally by force majeure. In the event of injury to life, body and health, the organizer shall only be liable for negligent and intentional fault on the part of itself, its legal representatives and vicarious agents. In the case of other damages, the liability of the organiser, its legal representatives and vicarious agents shall be limited to willful and grossly negligent fault, unless essential contractual obligations have been breached.

8. hotel reservation

The organizer is only an intermediary for hotel reservations and does not assume any liability. Changes/cancellations must be made directly with the hotel. The cancellation conditions of the respective hotel apply.

9. applicable law, place of performance and place of jurisdiction

Swiss law shall apply exclusively except its law of collision, in particular except the United Nations Convention Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG Convention). In case of language conflict the German version of these General Terms and Conditions is the legally binding version. To the extent permitted by law, Bern shall be the place of performance and jurisdiction for all claims.
